The PRIX JEUNESSE Foundation

The PRIX JEUNESSE Foundation was established in 1964 with the aim of promoting the quality of audiovisual media for children and young people worldwide, as well as promoting the international exchange of programs.
The PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL, the festival for the best children’s and youth programs from around the world, is the foundation’s main activity. Other activities include training measures for children’s media professionals, media research and the promotion of global networking. All these activities make the PRIX JEUNESSE a global lobbying organization for high-quality children’s media.
The International Central Institute for Youth and Educational Television (IZI)

With its work, the IZI aims to help illustrate and clarify the cultural significance of television for children and young people and how it is embedded in the everyday world of these target groups. Subsequently, IZI would like to contribute to the discussion about the educational mission of the broadcasting media, its contemporary realisation and the responsibility of the media towards society.
IZI was founded in 1965 and is part of Bayerischer Rundfunk (Bavaroan Broadcasting Corporation). Together with the PRIX JEUNESSE INTERNATIONAL, it is supported by the Gesellschaft zur Förderung des internationalen Jugend- und Bildungsfernsehens e.V. (Society for the Promotion of International Youth and Educational Television). Members of the society are Bayerischer Rundfunk, ZDF, the Free State of Bavaria, the City of Munich and the Bavarian Regulatory Authority for New Media (BLM).
